Executive Education Program: Specialist Short Course
The LH Martin Institute, in collaboration with ATEM, will be running our new Moving into Management course in Sydney from 19-23 October 2009.
Previously run by Universities Australia as the “Leadership Program for HEW Levels 5–7”, this five day residential program is designed for new and aspiring managers who are keen to develop their understanding of the tertiary education system in this changing political, economic and social environment. The program provides an opportunity for new managers to take the time to reflect on different leadership styles and their effects, team dynamics, broader leadership challenges and the policy environment in which they work, and will give them the tools and understandings they need to succeed in their new roles.
Developed to reflect the diversity of the overall tertiary community, this course will allow participants to explore topics in depth through formal/theoretical input, exploration and discussion, practical activities, and personal review and planning. Participants will also hear guest speakers with wide experience at various levels in tertiary education share their insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with their current roles and career paths via facilitated discussion sessions.
